Leading During Challenging Times has been thought-provoking and inspirational. Lori is gifted at creating a space where we can come together in the midst of whatever stressful events are consuming our lives and take some time to breathe and connect and exchange ideas with other public defenders in leadership roles. I have really valued the experience and would recommend it! - Emily Herbert, Nashville
The NAPD leadership training course - Leading During Times of Trouble - was an amazing course and I highly recommend it to anyone whether they have been in leadership positions for sometime or if they are being introduced to a leadership position for the first time. The course is even a helpful application to one's everyday stance on life. How do you want to lead your employees or how do you want to live your life and how do you want people to see you? I learned that it's okay to make mistakes along the way and that it's okay to feel vulnerable - it's all a part of the greatness that comes next. What we learn from this vulnerability is what will mold us into the person/leader that we aspire to be. My deepest most sincere gratitude to Lori James Townes and Dr. Pam Love Manning for their expertise and guidance through this journey. You ladies are superbly knowledgeable, prepared, gracious and the kind of leaders that we should all aspire to be. Thank you for taking of your time to guide us through this venture. - Gloria Macias, Western Texas Federal Public Defender Office
