Assistant Public Advocate / Attorney II-IV

The Office of Public Advocacy, Palmer Criminal Section is looking for an experienced Child in Need of Aid attorney. The office has six attorneys who represent indigent clients in criminal defense, juvenile delinquency, and Child in Need of Aid matters (both parent and child representation). The vacant position has historically been focused on CINA, but there would be the opportunity to handle a variety of matters. The Palmer office handles many Glennallen, Valdez and Cordova cases, and is appointed intermittently to clients all over the state.
Periodic travel within the state is to be expected. A minimum of three years’ experience preferred. Depending on experience, the selected candidate would be hired as an Attorney II, III, or IV. Please email inquiries to olivia.mackin@alaska.gov.
