Our office is deeply team-oriented and client-centered. The ideal applicant for this position is a confident, enthusiastic attorney who is self-motivated and passionate about public defense. Felony-qualification (by OPDS standards) is a plus, but not required. We can train the right applicant; attorneys new to criminal practice are encouraged to apply.
The attorney in this position will represent court-appointed clients in criminal matters, ranging from misdemeanors all the way up to the highest level of the attorney’s OPDS certification. This attorney will also represent parents and children in dependency matters. The attorney in this position will also have the option to handle privately retained cases within the attorney’s training and zone of competence and comfort.* Taking retained work is not required, however.
Salary is competitive, connected to the level of OPDS certification of the attorney. Health care, retirement benefits, and a generous time off package apply.
