Assistant Public Defender/PCR
The Missouri State Public Defender System is accepting applications for an Assistant Public Defender in the Central PCR Office located in Columbia. Attorney to handle postconviction cases under Rule 24.035 challenging constitutionality of judgment and sentence pursuant to felony pleas of guilty, and Rule 29.15 challenging constitutionality of convictions after felony trial and direct appeal. Litigation is primarily in circuit courts throughout the state, so travel and reliable transportation is required. Attorney may also handle some postconviction and/or direct felony appeals in the three appellate court districts of Missouri. |

Requirements |
Qualifications: Must be a member of the Missouri Bar or eligible for bar licensure in Missouri.
Salary/Benefits: Starting salary is $52,104. After one year, an APD is eligible for salary increase to $57,792. Eligible for full state benefits including health, life, and long-term disability insurance, retirement plan, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, CLE training, and payment of bar dues.
