ASSISTANT FEDERAL DEFENDER – TWO-YEAR TERM POSITION
This full-time position will primarily be responsible for covering the criminal
docket at the Yosemite Federal Courthouse, which contains a unique and varied assortment of misdemeanor offenses involving clients from all parts of the globe. The Office of the Federal Defender operates under the Criminal Justice Act, 18 U.S.C. § 3006A, representing indigent persons in federal criminal cases and related court matters.

All applicants must either be admitted to the State Bar of California or be a member in good standing of another state’s bar and be admitted to the California Bar within two years of starting. This position is a full-time, two-year term position with federal salary based on qualifications and experience.
