Federal Public defender - investigator
The Investigator plays an integral role in the development and work-up of both trial phase and penalty phase issues, including the development of mitigating evidence, as well as fact evidence. The individual will be a part of a team of attorneys and investigators representing individuals sentenced to death. The Investigator is responsible for supporting the development of facts and mitigation for cases, as well as other duties including locating and interviewing witnesses, serving subpoenas, and locating and retrieving documents and other evidence.
Salary and Benefits:
Starting salary will be commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the applicant. This position is excepted service and does not carry the tenure rights of the competitive Civil Service. The position does offer federal government employment benefits including health and life insurance, retirement and the Thrift Savings Plan. Salary is payable only by Electronic Funds Transfer (direct deposit).
Conditions of Employment:
