Senior Research Associate
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This position will manage and analyze large datasets employing a variety of research methodologies and techniques; prepare research summaries, reports, presentations, and other materials; and perform other research duties as necessary under the direction of the Research Director. This position requires strong analytical and organizational skills; the ability to be highly productive; and the ability to meet project deadlines. The IDS Office is a small and fast-paced office environment. The person in this position must have the capacity to work independently, analyze data accurately, exercise sound judgment, and be attentive to detail.

Requirements BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: At least two years of experience in a research position analyzing data, as well as a Master’s degree in public administration, social work, sociology, or related field with coursework in measurement, evaluation, and research design. Applicants must have demonstrated knowledge of SPSS, SAS, R, or other statistical software program, experience in managing large datasets, and the ability to develop programs to clean, code, and integrate data from multiple sources, as well as perform research routines and procedures. Candidates should have excellent writing skills and the ability to convey research findings in written reports. Knowledge of database software, such as Access or SQL, and relational database design is preferred. Note: this is not a legal research position.
