Supervising Attorney, Rural Defense Section – Office of Public Advocacy
The Office of Public Advocacy is seeking a Supervising Attorney for its new Rural Defense Section.  This position provides specialized legal representation to indigent clients accused of committing the highest level of criminal offenses as well as represents parents in Child In Need of Aid (CINA) cases and respondents in guardianship and mental health commitment cases.  This attorney supervises two attorneys, one investigator, and one paralegal.  This position will handle cases located throughout Alaska and travel will be required.  At least five years of legal experience including experience in trying unclassified felonies, as well as a Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited school is required, in addition to bar licensure in Alaska or the ability to become licensed.
