Applications are now being accepted for Deputy Assistant Public Defender assigned to the Connecticut Innocence Project. 
This is a specialized unit of the Division, the successful candidate will coordinate and assist in developing strategies regarding the representation of individuals who were under age 18 at the time of their offense and were convicted in adult court.  The position is responsible for overseeing the caseload of Public Act 15-84 juvenile parole hearings; providing training and resources to attorney’s handlings these matters; providing orientation presentations to eligible inmates; responds to questions from attorneys and inmates.  Works with Board of Pardons and Paroles on policies and training and serves as liaison between Board and inmates and their attorneys.  The successful candidate will also assist in the development of training and provide litigation support in juvenile sentencing and resentencing and maintain a caseload in this area as well as other post-conviction cases.
Starting Salary (New Hires) is $72,458 – 81,506 depending on experience.  Position has full State benefits.
A degree from an accredited law school and admission to the Connecticut Bar is required.  Experience with juvenile justice is desired.
