Make a Difference in Bend, OR! Deschutes Defenders, A Public Defense Nonprofit has an opening for a criminal defense attorney with 3+ years experience. We are looking for someone to join our team of 16 attorneys dedicated to hard work on client-centered representation and community engagement. Experience with Measure 11 or other major felonies preferred. We are open to a partial caseload that includes dependency or delinquency clients for the right candidate. We are a 501(c)(3) public defenders' office that qualifies for the student loan forgiveness program. | Requirements |
Attorney will communicate effectively with clients, other members of the defense team, opposing counsel and the court. The attorney will effectively handle cases, from initial interview through completion of case resolution. This includes working with investigators, researching and writing pretrial motions, utilizing experts, negotiations and litigation. |
